Kaela meets Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge

As soon as I saw this cute Kaela as a Fairy digi image from Designed2Delight, I knew I wanted to sit her on some clouds.  Faith released her after getting lots of emails asking for more Kaela after the release of Kaela as an Angel. I think she is so sweet, hope there are lots more Kaelas in the future.

I used Mercy's Tuesday sketch challenge (MTSC102) for the layout of this card.  I really liked the look of the two square panels.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope your week is going well.

D2D Christmas Gift Ideas Blog Hop

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.   Now it is time to move on to Christmas, and that means gift giving season.  The D2D Design Team is having a little blog hop showing cute and inexpensive handmade holiday gifts.  You can get all the info, plus links to the blogs on the new Card Ideas blog.

For my project I recycled a ribbon roll.  I've saved several of them and thought they would come in handy one day and they did!  I covered the flat sides in white card stock, then I die cut four Fleur De Lis die cuts and layered two on each side to look like a snowflake.  I added a red seam binding hanger, and decorated it with the Dollar Delights mitten digi from Designed2Delight.  Image is colored with copics and stickles.  Very easy project and fun to make.

Here is the side view, so you can see how the ribbon roll was used.

Here is the cost breakdown per gift.  It will be even cheaper than that if you use the same digital image multiple times.  It would be a fun ornament to make with kids, too.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you found some inspiration from the Designed2Delight design team today.  Make sure to comment on the blogs you visit, since there will be prizes up for winning!

Happy Thanksgiving!  Welcome to the Magnolia-licious Christmas All Year Long blog hop.  Once a month on the 25th, some of the members of the Magnolia-licious Yahoo group have a blog hop with Christmas cards.  Great way to work on those cards year round.  If you arrived from Julie's blog you are in the right place.  If you get lost along the way, you can see the full list on the Magnolia-licous Christmas All Year Long Blog.  This is our last hop for the year, but we will continue in 2011.  I had so much participating all year long!

If you are looking to add to your Magnolia collection, Diana has a great selection of Maggies at the Magnolia-licous web shop.

I used the Friday Sketchers sketch #129 for this card.

Hyacinth

This is Hyacinth from Rubber Romance.  I made this for one of the HYCCT challenges on SCS, just haven't had a chance to post it yet.  I love the bright and springy colors on this one.  The paper is from the Cosmo Cricket DeLovely paper pack.  These cards were mailed to a hospital in Texas, to go to patients with cancer and their families.  I thought the bright colors were cheerful!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Hope you are better prepared for Thanksgiving than I am.  Still lots to do here!

Riding Rudolph

The challenge this week at Phindy's Place (#31) is a sketch.  It threw me for a little curve, I wasn't sure about the triangle, but once I got it together, I really liked it.  I love a challenging sketch.

This little guy is called Riding Rudolph.  The expression on the dog's face cracks me up!  We don't have a dog, but could see my little Finn trying to do something like this!

I colored a few more of these adorable images this weekend and need to get them onto cards.  Remember my vow to not purchase any new ones until I used all the ones I bought?  Getting tough, as Phindy released a few new images this week.  Guess that means I need to keep working on these cuties!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Hope your week is off to a wonderful start.

Bearing Gifts

Needed a boy's birthday card this morning. Nothing like waiting til the last minute.  I like making girly cards better, so I always put of the boy or men cards.  Funny thing is I need lots of boy cards with three boys, better change my ways.

Anyway, I saw the Paper Sundaes challenge #45, a sketch, this morning and thought it would work perfectly with the image I was planning to use from Designed2Delight. It is called Bearing Gifts.  It is definitely one of my favorites, the bear reminds me of Pooh, more his posture than the way he looks.

Hope you had a great weekend.  My dh is at the Eagles/Giants game tonight.  He said it is freezing ou there.  Glad I'm home and warm.

Stamps:  Designed2Delight Bearing Gifts, PTI sentiment

I used the Sexy Santa image here along with the sketch from Wednesday on Splitcoast Stampers.

Thanks for dropping by today.  Hope you are having a wonderful day.  We took the kids to Build a Bear Workshop this afternoon, it was so much fun.  Cal and Liam really enjoyed the stuffing of the bears and putting the hearts inside.  Finn made a soft dog and Lilah chewed on her bunny's ears.  Fun for everyone.

TGIF!  My husband is home from traveling, so that is a good thing!

This guy, Skating Penguin, is the latest image from the Delightful Inspiration progressive challenge.  If you played along last week, he was emailed to you, if not and you want to join the fun, you can buy him at the Designed2Delight store.  I think he is really cute.  I had fun glossing up his skates and adding flock to his belly.

This is last week's SFYYT from Jen Del Muro.

Tasty Flakes

I've really been having fun coloring these Phindy's Place images.  I bought a bunch of them, and promised not to buy more until I used them all (so a little incentive there for me, lol).  This one is called Tasty Flakes.  She has the sweetest little face!

I used Mercy's Tuesday sketch challenge #100 (MTSC100) for the layout. Congrats to Mercy for 100 fantastic sketches, keep them coming!  They are always the nicest sketches to play with each week. Thanks Mercy!

Her boots are glossed up and fur trimmed with liquid applique.  Some stickles for snow make it nice and sparkly.

I'm also playing along with the Phindy''s Friday challenge which is Christmas is Coming this week.  I'm getting this one finished up right in time.

Thanks for dropping by.  Hope you are having a wonderful week.

We've been having a nice week here, and today was very special.  My little Lilah started walking.  So exciting for everyone.  I guess there will be no stopping her now!

Some Delightful MoJo

I haven't played along with the MoJo Monday sketch (MoJo Monday 165) in a while.  When I saw the tilted panel, I thought it was too fun to resist.

This image is called Cardinal & Winterberries from Designed2Delight.  He is popped up for some dimension.  The berries are glazed with Crystal Effects and the ice is coated with stickles.  The effect is really pretty in real life.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  We are having some major wind today.  Staying inside to keep warm!  Hope you are having a wonderful week!

Christmas Kaela

Another weekend flew by!  Today we did a dry run on our smoked turkey.  It came out well!  I think we are all set with our Thanksgiving menu!

I had a bit of time this afternoon between my BJ's run and dinner to make a card.

This is Kaela as an Angel  from Designed2Delight.  She was the freebie this week at Delightful Inspiration for participating in last week's challenge, but if you didn't play along you can buy her in the D2D store. I think she is so sweet.  Love the chubby cheeks!  I used her for a holiday card, but think she could be easily used all year long.

My inspiration came from the MoJo Monday sketch #164, but kind of went astray with the sentiment. Also check out the Double Delight challenge #20 this week it is sparkle  (you can't not glitter up those big angel wings)!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Hope you had a wonderful weekend.

Watch Dog

I love this Watch Dog image from Designed2Delight.  I think it is so funny how the dog is oblivious to Santa coming down the chimmeny.  Don't know hw well the photo shows it, but the boots are all glossed up with crystal effects.

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.

Christmas Contentment

This was the first image that drew me to these adorable Phindy's Place digis.  Anne posted a really lovely card with it and being a new mom myself the image really spoke to me.  It is called Contentment and is such a sweet image. While it isn't a Christmas image, I thought it would make a wonderful holiday card for new parents.

I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches, #67.  This sketch was a bit tricky for me this week, don't know why it doesn't look too  complicated here, lol!  I turned it upright to fit with the image.

And it is for Phindy's Place Challenge blog  3-2-1 go challenge. I've  used three gold brads, two patterned papers and one ribbon.  I love fun recipe challenges like this.

Thanks for dropping by today.  Hope you are having a great week!

Paper Pieced Katie

Happy Tuesday!  Here is another one of the cards I made for the HYCCT challenge on SCS.  The prizes are being given out to the participants today and I won one, and saw that several of my blogging and stamping buddies did too.  Fun!  I was thinking though, that really it is a win-win all around even without prizes.  I feel lucky to have had the chance to share some cards with patients in the hospital and I bet the staff, patients and families are very excited to be receiving boxes of hand made cards.  It was a great month long challenge.

I even parted with some of my closely hoarded BG Indian Summer patterned paper. So hard to cut it, LOL.  But like I've mentioned recently, watching those hoarders shows will make you think a little differently!

This image is Katie from Rubber Romance.  She is perfect for paper piecing.  Love her BG dress!

Thanks so much for dropping by today.  Hope you are having a great week.

Harvest Basket

I love fall, and this Harvest Basket image from Designed2Delight is the perfect fall image.  Too bad it feels like winter here today, downright blustery, LOL!  I know we still have plenty of Autumn left to enjoy. This is the first freebie for November from Designed2Delight for the progressive challenge on the Delightful Inspiration blog.  So grab it up and play along with the challenge.

I used Jen del Muro's SFYTT from Saturday, it was perfect for this image. Fun sketch, that I think I'll come back to again.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Hope you are having a great Monday.

Angela on a Scooter

Sunday already?  I stayed up very late to finish the HYCCT challenges on SCS last night. I made this one for the hand made embellishment challenge.  The faux chipboard corners are my embellie (made from punches, cereal boxes and stickles~easy peasy)!

Really a plain and simple layout here.  The image is large so there wasn't room for much.  This diva is Angela from Rubber Romance. I had to color the Vespa pink, I've always wanted a pink one.

Thanks for dropping by today.  We are laying low, I have one with a double ear infection and another with a nasty cold.  We had two babies screaming all night pretty much.  Hubby and I are useless right now.  Funny thing though, they really seem to improve during the day time!  Hoping they are on the mend.

Have a great Sunday!

Stamps:  Angela from Rubber Romance

Christmas Cocoa

It's Dare to be Sassy Thursday, and this week's challenge is sewing.  Pretty easy, you can use a machine, hand sewing or faux stitching. Now you can use any image (doesn't have to be a SSD image).  So play along with us if you can for a chance to win two images.

I used this week's Midnight Madness sketch challenge (MMSC78).  I went somewhere between the clean and simple and fancier layout this week.

Thanks for dropping by today.  Hope you are having a great week.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Sassy Studio Designs Baby It's Cold Outside
Ink:  Paper
Paper:  PTI ssw, Pretty in Pink, Real Red. Garden Green, DCWV striped
Embellishments:  copics, stickles, nesties, sewing machine, BG brads, dimensionals

Longing Giraffes

These two cuties are from the Laughing Giraffes set available at Designed2Delight. The giraffes were the freebie from the Delightful Inspiration progressive challenge last week.  If you didn't play along, don't fret, tomorrow the first freebie will be posted for November, so grab it and play along with us.

When I saw the shape of the giraffes, I knew I wanted to use my heart nesties.  I haven't made a heart shaped card in a while, so I went for the hearts on all the layers.  I found this cute sentiment in one of my Gina K sets, and thought it was perfect for giraffes.  I always love a pun.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Hope you are having a great week.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Laughing Giraffes from Designed2Delight, sentiment from Gina K designs
Ink:  Printer, Only Orange
Paper:  PTI ssw, Real Red, Only Orange, Yoyo Yellow
Embellishments:  copics, cuttlebug embossing folder, nesties, dimensionals, SU gingham ribbon

Cocoa with Marshmallows

It's been a crazy two weeks for me. We had two birthdays and Halloween all within a week. Yikes, enough candy and sugar to last us for a while. Hopefully things will slow down now for a bit.  At least until Thanksgiving.

I made this card with the Friday Sketchers challenge #126.  It was a great sketch to fit the size I printed out this image.  It is the  Hot Cocoa image from Phindy's.  I'm also using it in the Phindy's  Friday challenge blog challenge #28, using a favorite color.  This was a hard one for me, I love almost every color, but since getting this Mitten Weather paper from Cosmo Cricket, I've really been liking the purples.  So I guess this week purple is my fave!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Hope you had a wonderful day.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Hot Cocoa digi image from Phindy's
Ink:  Printer
Paper:  PTI ssw, Plum Pudding, SU Bashful Blue, Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather prints
Embellishments:  copics, crystal effects, border punch, SU ribbon, nesties snowflake die, PTI button, dimensionals

Sassy Studio November blog hop

November 1st already!?  How did that happen?

Today is release day at Sassy Studio Designs.  Lindsay is releasing some great and very sassy holiday images.  We are having a little blog hop (with prizes of course)!  So it you arrived from Larisa's blog, you are in the right place.  If not head over to Sara's blog, to start at the beginning.  As you hop along you need to collect all the ingredients for a Christmas dinner.  We will each have part of the menu for you to collect.  You will finish up on the SSD blog and get the info for emailing your answers there.

My first card uses Sexy Santa, she is colored with copics, and glammed up with some liquid applique.  Card stock  is all PTI, and patterned paper from DCWV.  Embellished with a nestie snow flake die cut and PTI button.

And this one uses Christmas Present.  She is colored with copics and embellished with a sakura glitter pen.  Again I used PTI card stock and DCWV patterned paper.  Finished it with Bo Bunny brads a nestie label die cut, PTI ribbon, SU corner rounder and a MS border punch.

Your next stop along the hop is the talented Amanda, you're in for a treat, she made a sample for each of the new images!  The menu items you need from me are corn and gravy.  Hope you will join us later tonight (9 EST) for a party on the SSD party blog.

Thanks for stopping by today hope you are having a great day!
