Magnolia-licious Christmas All Year Long Blog Hop

Hi and welcome to the third Magnolia-licious Christmas All Year Long blog hop for 2011. The ladies from the Magnolia-licious Yahoo group have a hop on the 25th of every month.  By December, you have a good selection of Magnolia cards ready to send. I participated in most of the months last year and really enjoyed it.

You can find the order of the hop on the Magnolia-licious Christmas All Year Long Blog. And Magnolia-licous on line always has the best selection of Magnolia stamps, if you see something you need while hopping. This one is called Tilda with Wreath, I see that only the mini version of this one is in stock right now, but I'm sure Diana could get it for you if you wanted it.

If you arrived here from Cordine's blog you are in the right place. When you are through here  hop on over to Monique's blog and see what she has crafted up for this month. Thanks for hopping along with us, hope you will join us on the 25th of May!

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you are having a wonderful week.

I've used the sketch from Sketch N Stash #75. The stamp is a new one I haven't used before and the paper is from my hoarded stash.

Happy Tuesday! That means it's time for a new sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. Melissa has a really fun sketch again this week, hope you will check out the DT samples and then join us for a chance to win a prize.

Our sponsor this week is Digital Delights, and I love this cute seahorse image they graciously provided me to work with. I used some fabulous fish paper that came from my blogging buddy and TMS DT member Angela from a secret sis swap. I was so lucky to have this, it worked perfectly with the image.

I have no idea what color real seahorses are, so I drew inspiration from this fun paper. I've printed off the image twice and popped up the head for some dimension.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you will join the challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches this week!

The weekend is here! Today the Saturday's Design Team challenge over at D2D is mostly white. I love white cards! SO easy since you don't have to worry about matching colors, patterned paper and cardstock. The fun part is adding lots of texture and interest.

For my card I used May Flowers. I've had this image forever and LOVE it. Such a lovely and timeless image. I find it perfect for almost any occasion (birthday, thinking of you, thank you, even sympathy). I printed it twice and cut out and popped up the flowers for some dimension.

Hope you will pop over to the Designed2Delight blog and check out the DT creations, there are some amazing samples. Play along with us this week for a chance to win a D2D image.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #94

Happy Tuesday! I've got a Tuesday Morning Sketches card here today. This week there isn't a sketch, rather a technique challenge. The featured technique is crayon resist. There are many tutorials out there, I used this one from Gina K. on Stamp TV. It was very easy to follow.

The cloud panel on this card is where I used the crayon resist technique. The clouds are a stamp from Verve, stamped on glossy card stock, colored in with white crayon, then sponged with blue ink. The blue ink wipes right off of where you use the crayon.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you will check out the other Designers samples on the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog.and play along with us. The sponsor is One Stop Card Crafts and a great prize is up for grabs!

Happy Saturday! Had a beautiful sunny day here, even though rain was called for.

The new challenge over at D2D this week is handmade flowers. I used this sweet little D2D Neighbors image and paired him with some rolled roses. They are made using an MFT die, I first noticed them on my friend Angela's projects, and knew I "needed" this die. It's fun and easy to us.

Phindy's Friday Challenge

TGIF! My dh is on his way home, been a long week alone with the kiddo! Glad I'm finally able to get a post up, seems blogger worked all all the issues, so all is good again!

Friday is Phindy's Challenge day. Today Anne gave us the challenge of using one image to create two cards. Fun challenge, since I know so many of us tend to use an image once then move on to the next one. Now for me this will be the third time I used this little guy, Nap Time, from Phindy's Place!

For my first card I used the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday #101, and turned it sideways. I tried some darker skin tones on this little cutie and made the dog a yellow lab.

For my second card I made a little rag quilt (see the roughed up edges, lol) for him to lay on, and went with lighter skin tones and a chocolate lab.

Hope you will join the fun this week and play along with us. It's not necessary to use a Phindy image, but if you do you will be entered into the drawing twice and we really love to see them! Stop by the blog and check out all the DT samples, great stuff this week as always!

Card Recipe:
Ink: Pritner
Paper: PTI, SU, Basic Gray, Colorbok
Embellishments: copics, nesties, PTI buttons, MM brads, Tim Holtz ticket, distresser, cuttlebug embossing folder, sewing machine, dimensionals, twine, SU ribbon, EK Success border punch

Dare to be Sassy Thursday

It's Dare to be Sassy Thursday over at SSD. The challenge this week is weddings, bridal showers, or bachelorette parties. I used this elegant image, True Loves Kiss, for mine.

Lindsay gave this away recently, I believe at a release party. Also stop by the group on PCP, there is a Friday Freebie each week, it's only available for 24 hours, but how can you beat free?!

I used the Sketch N Stash challenge #61 for the sketch. I've been hoarding the Pink Pirouette c/s from SU for a while now. The Prima roses and image are my new elements.

Card Recipe:
Image: SSD True Loves Kiss, sentiment from PTI
Ink: Printer, Palette Noir
Paper: PTI ssw, SU pink and gray
Embellishments: copics, spica pens, nesties, cuttlebug embossing folders, prima flowers, MS punch, Offray ribbon, K and Co rhinestones

I paired him up with a sentiment from TGF. With three little guys at home, I'm always in need of boy cards, so I think I'll use this image often.

Thanks for stopping in today. Hope you are having a great week.

Whimsy and Stars Birthday Chickie

Another week is flying  by! I can't believe it is Wednesday already!

The latest release from Whimsy and Stars was huge and fabulous! I've got a big stack of images on my desk to work on. This little cutie is called Birthday Chickie.

Such a fun and festive image. I've crystal effected one one the balloons (hmm, don't know if I can use that as a verb, lol). And she has some stickles on her green trim. As you can see, I've some more of my Walmart paper, think I'll be headed back for more soon, it just makes me smile!

The sketch I've used is Jen del Muro's Sketch For You to Try (SFYTT) for May. It was a fun and easy sketch to work with!

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you are having a wonderful week!

Flowers in My Garden

I hope all the moms out there had a lovely Mother's Day. The highlight of my day was a two hour nap. My dh was traveling all week and I was worn out!

As I mentioned before, I love images from the back. This one is called Flowers in My Garden from A Day For Daisies. I think it's such a sweet image. I colored her skin very pale, to go with that red hair, I think she is a little Irish lass for sure.

I used the Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch #100 for the layout of this card.

Thanks for dropping by today. Hope you had a lovely weekend!

Sassy Sponsorship

Happy Saturday! I've got a card for a SSD sponsorship today. SSD is sponsoring the Stamp Something digi day for May. All you've got to do is use a digi, not too hard!  There are lots of sponsors and great prizes up for grabs, so hope you'll play along!

I've used the Martini Pin Up for my image. Kept the layout pretty simple since I printed the image fairly large. The olives and glass are all glossed up, it looks pretty cool in real life.

Here's the inside. I used a stamp from Stamping Bella with this quote, thought it was a fun pairing with the image.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Don't forget to watch the KY Derby later today. My dh is there (that lucky guy)! Hmmm, hope I don't get into any online shopping trouble while he is away, been known to happen before, lol!

D2D Mother's Day blog hop

Welcome to the Designed2Delight Mother's Day blog hop! Head on over to start at the beginning, Faith's blog, there you can find all the info. You'll want to check it out, because there are lots of prizes available and several ways to win!

If you've arrived from my buddy Emily's blog, you are in the right place (she had three awesome projects on display, love all her flowery goodness). I chose to use this week's freebie Pail of Flowers, for my card. It's also the first one of the month, so you can still grab it up if you haven't already done so. I've printed it twice so I could pop up some of the blooms. I've used Tracy's Eat, Sleep, Stamp Sketchy Thursday #129 for the layout of my card. I LOVE bright colors, can you tell? I found this fun paper pack at Walmart this week and just couldn't resist.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Faith has allowed each designer to pick an image to give away during the hop! How cool is that? Thanks Faith! I'm giving away one of my favorite D2D digis, On the Line to one random commenter. So leave me a comment if you would like to win. I'll announce the winner on Sunday night.

Now hop on over and see what Katie has created for today's hop.

Phindy's Friday Challenge

TGIF! That means it's time for another Phindy's Friday challenge. The theme this week is embossing. Regular or dry embossing will fit the challenge.

I've used one of the newer Wee Babbies, Bubble Gum, for my card. We are deep into baseball season here with lots of practices and games. This image reminds me of my youngest boy, he is too little to play, but spends most of his day walking around with a batting helmet on. He really wants to play with the big boys, too funny!

Hope you will stop over to the challenge blog and check out the DT samples. Play along with us for a chance to win a Phindy's gift certificate. And if you use a Phindy's image you will get entered twice!

Whimsy and Stars

This week is flying by! I've got a little teacher thank you here today. When I saw this new digi, Back to School, from Mabelle RO at Whimsy and Stars, I immediately knew I wanted to make some thank yous for the teachers at my son's preschool. They are such a wonderful group of ladies! Figured I'd get a head start on cards to pair up with end of the year gifts.

I used one of the older sketches on SCS for the layout of this one.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you are having a wonderful week.

Tuesday Morning Sketches guest designer

I've got a Tuesday Morning Sketches post here today. Melissa kindly invited me to continue on as guest designer for May, and I gratefully accepted!

We've got a fantastic sketch today and a great sponsor. Theresa created the sketch for this week. I really like the diamond panel in the center. Stampfairy is sponsoring this challenge. They provided me with this darling panda bear image to use. I know pandas are black and white, but I just felt like coloring a brown bear. His eyes are coated in crystal effects and look really big and shiny in real life.

Check out the fun samples from the DT on the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog. Hope you will find time to play along with us this week.

I used the Eat, Sleep, Stamp Sketchy Thursday sketch #128 for this one. Another great sketch from Tracy this week.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope your week is off to a great start.
