Friday cards for fun

TGIF! I recently discovered this newish line of digis through facebook. They are just adorable. They are drawn by Emma Canning and available at the Polkadoodles store. There is a new Flat Friends Challenge blog for challenges with this images. It's just started, but should have challenges running soon. I bought a few digis right away and had fun coloring them in and making some cards.

This first one uses All Lit Up. She looks like me with the holiday lights, lol. They always are a big tangle when I take them out. I paired her up with some non traditional colored Christmas papers from Echo Park. She is colored with copics and has some stickles for sparkle. Did you see those jingle bells??!! I was super excited to find glittery white jingle bells at Michaels this year (actually they have all sorts of colors and types, yeah!). The sketch here comes from Sweet Sketch Wednesday #169. As usual, a beautiful sketch from Arlana.

My second card uses another Emma Canning image called Millie Birthday. She is a cutie, too. I went with an auburn shade for her hair. I think I do brown too often, maybe because I'm a brunette. I've colored her with copics, added some liquid pearls and rolled roses, to coordinate with the rolled rose on her hair and dress. She is paired with some MME Fine and Dandy paper. My sketch comes from Fab N Funky #136, with the additional challenge to use a birthday theme this week. A fun sketch for sure!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! We are off to the farm to pick up our CSA produce. Anyone have any good beet or okra recipes? A bit stumped by both of these, but I'll figure something out.

Have a great weekend!

Wow, don't know what I'll do with my free time (although it won't be that much time, Finn and Lilah will go M, W & F just for 2 1/2 hours). Everyone is getting excited for next week!

My Memories Suite

A few weeks back I was contacted by My Memories Suite and asked if I would like to review their digi scrapbooking download line. Well, I'm dreadfully behind on my paper scrapbooks and have been debating trying out some digi scrapbooking, so the timing was perfect. But for those who know me well, you know I'm computer challenged. I decided to go for it, and boy am I glad I did!

This My Memories Suite software is easy to download and easy to use. I played around with it for one afternoon and watched a few youtube videos and it really is very user friendly. It comes with a ton of elements. There are lots of premade pages like the ones I've completed below, as well as pages you can build yourself. Once you have the software, you can even add to it, they offer many free downloads and inexpensive kits to customize all your projects. The possibilities are amazing and endless.

This six holiday layouts are from a kit that comes with the package. I simply popped in my photos and added a bit of journaling and was good to go. I'm telling you, My Memories Suite software is EASY to use (this is coming from the girl who can't figure out Photoshop Elements!). The most difficult part was finding where I had my photos stored on iphoto, lol!

There you have it Christmas 2009, scrapped and ready to be printed out. I really feel like I've accomplished something! Thanks to My Memories Suite for the chance to preview this software, I really enjoyed using it and will keep using it!

If you think this looks like something you would like to try out, I have a code that will save you $10 on the purchase price of the software and give you an additional $10 to use in the My Memories store.

Here is the code to save: STMMMS30056
